Beckman Coulter Life Sciences has introduced the new CytoFLEX nano Flow Cytometer, a device specifically designed for the analysis of extracellular vesicles (EVs) and nanoparticles.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are membrane-bound particles secreted by cells into the extracellular environment. They play a crucial role in communication, influencing physiological and pathological processes such as immune response, tissue regeneration, tumor growth, and more.
Analyzing EVs is extremely important for:
Traditional flow cytometry has limited ability to detect EVs smaller than 100 nm. Additional methods like Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) somewhat improve the level of detail, but they often require multiple platforms, making the processes labor-intensive and complicating standardization.
Built on the same principles as the CytoFLEX platform, the CytoFLEX nano combines the capabilities of various methods into a single platform, ensuring the detection of nanoparticles as small as 40 nm, analysis of individual EV markers even with low expression (<10 antigen copies), and the ability to provide standardized, fast, and accurate analysis without using multiple systems.
